Since 1995 this year’s Hall of Fame inductee Coach Billy “B.C.” Caruso has made Brick Memorial High School girls soccer program not only one of the top high school girls soccer programs in the state, but also in the country. After an outstanding college playing career, Coach Caruso returned to his alma mater to guide the Mustangs to over 400 wins which includes 10 divisional championships, 7 sectional championships and 4 state titles. 11 times his teams finished top 20 in the final New Jersey rankings and twice his teams finished ranked in the top 20 nationally. He has won 22 “Coach of the Year” awards and was inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2017.
Coach Caruso has coached 9 first team All State players and a high school All American. An astounding 28 of his former players have played division 1 college soccer with 7 former players having been recognized as NCAA All-Americans. As impressive as those numbers are, I am sure he will tell you his most cherished memory is being able to coach his twin daughters, Mia and Lexi, to a sectional title their senior year.
Throughout his coaching career Coach Caruso has been able to establish a culture and style at Brick Memorial that has become well known and respected throughout the state. He is without a doubt one of the best coaches that the state has ever produced. Please welcome this year’s New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee, Billy Caruso.
